About us

Mission: The Alice Springs Youth and Community Centre Inc. nurtures the growth of resilient children, thriving families, and a lively community. Through the application of sound business and management practices, ASYCC provides inclusive sports and recreational opportunities in a safe, well-maintained, and inviting environment for individuals of every age.

Established in 1951

In the late 40s, early 50s, the Alice Springs Children’s Social Club was founded on the Wills Terrace site by Mrs Agnes East. The club was the forerunner of the Alice Springs Youth & Community Centre (AKA Alice Springs Youth Centre) established as an incorporated body in October 1951.

The ASYCC boasts a vibrant legacy as Alice Springs' longest-standing Youth & Community Centre, showcasing a steadfast commitment to the community. Presently, the ASYCC provides an array of sports and recreational programs, encompassing Gymnastics, Circus, Tiny Tots Fun Time, and various martial arts such as Aikido, Eskrima, Shotokan, and Taekwondo.

The Center operates seven days a week, managed by a committed team of 26 volunteers who wholeheartedly dedicate their time to advancing the Center's goal of fostering a vibrant and healthy lifestyle, with a special focus on youth. The programs cater to all age groups, offering a range of choices from early childhood Tiny Tots to inclusive adult classes that welcome participants of all ages.

At Alice Springs Youth Community Centre (Inc.), we offer children aged five and up the chance to participate in gymnastics and select martial arts programs. Adults can enjoy a variety of martial arts classes as well.

For exclusive gatherings, Higgins Hall is the perfect choice for your event venue. Moreover, our recently refurbished Skate-way provides a safe and convenient area for fans of street soccer and biking.

Situated at the foothills of ANZAC Hill and nestled beside the rugby grounds, our superb location provides an ideal mix of recreation and exercise, positioning us as the ultimate destination for individuals in pursuit of pleasure and wellness.
